Orange room

What is the connection between the House of Orange and Sint-Maartensdijk? And what did the castle in Sint-Maartensdijk have to do with that? The story of The Orange Room Museum begins in the early Middle Ages and ends in our time, in which evidence of these events can still be found. The Oranjekamer takes you back to the glory days of the castle and makes the history of the municipality of Tholen come to life!

Flood House

In the old town hall of Stavenisse is now located the flood house. Here visitors will find information about the flood disaster of 1953. In February that year, Tholen and St. Philipsland were badly hit. The dikes broke in various places and some inner dikes also failed. Many people died tragically. An exhibition in word and image.

Roosevelt Information Center

The American Roosevelt family originally come from Oud-Vossemeer in the municipality of Tholen. So are the three most important members of the American branch: Franklin Delano, Theodore and Eleanor. It shows how they ended up in America, and how the ancestors fared Roosevelt Information Center in a small, accessible exhibition. This is located in the artisan mansion that was owned by Mr. Rosevelt was. A fact that brings the story even more to life.

Regional Museum De Meeeloos

How did the people in Tholen used to live? Where did they work? What did they look like? Regional Museum De Meeeloos gives an overview of the former life on Tholen and Sint Philipsland. And of all the beautiful things that have emerged from these islands: such as the ceramics and glass art of Chris Lanooy and the madder cultivation. The museum remains fun to visit, thanks to the annual changing exhibitions.
