About the Tholen Better Known Foundation
The Tholen Better Known Foundation was founded on February 18, 2016 and invests in the attractiveness of Tholen and in promoting Tholen. This is done under the name Eiland Tholen. This is the promotional name for the entire municipality and includes the former islands of Tholen and Sint Philipsland. The result that the foundation has in mind is that (potential) visitors to Tholen know what there is to experience in all seasons and therefore like to (continue to) come to Tholen and that the pleasant living and working climate is widely propagated so that people here want to stay or come and live and companies can find enough staff.
The board
The board of the foundation is formed by representatives of the branches and parties that are participants of the foundation.

- Secretary – Veerle Duvekot-Elzenga (Visser Installatietechniek) representative of the business sector
- Treasurer – Mary van Bloppoel (Remmerswaal Accountants & Adviseurs) representative business sector
- General board member – Hilde Moerland (wethouder gemeente Tholen)
- General board member – Ko Droogendijk (Stadlander) representative housing sector
- General board member – Martin Potter (ZLTO) agricultural sector representative
- General board member – André van Ast (Brasserie De Deu-Braek) vertegenwoordiger sector recreatie – horeca
Goals
- Investing in the promotion of Eiland Tholen.
- Promoting events and activities that take place on Eiland Tholen.
- Investing in products and services that increase the quality of Eiland Tholen.
- Acting as a contract partner of the Municipality of Tholen in order to allocate revenues from the tourist tax or otherwise released municipal funds for the aforementioned purpose.
- Managing municipal and other contributions.
