Vision Culture Square Tholen

Culture is the cement of our society and offers residents development opportunities. Culture and cultural heritage mean that you know where you come from, people derive identity and awareness from knowing and experiencing (their) culture. It also contributes to our tourist attraction and therefore has economic importance. Based on that realization, the municipality of Tholen wants to strengthen its cultural qualities.

Objectives Culture Square Tholen

• A balanced (yearly) programming and a varied cultural offer: something for everyone.
• A transparent, reasonable distribution key for cultural funds.
• Contributing to opening up monumental buildings for appropriate cultural purposes.
• Contributing to the conservation of cultural-historical heritage.
• Stimulating mutual cooperation so that current and new initiatives flourish.
  

Annual tasks

• Assess grant applications and advise the Board of B&W.
• In April, account for cultural expenditures to the municipal council by means of the annual accounts.
• Account for expenditure on cultural funds to citizens by means of the annual accounts.
• Accessible online platform for keeping track of the entire Thool cultural programming.
• Organize an annual inspiration session for cultural clubs/providers.
• Contribute to cultural policy of the municipality of Tholen.
• Contribute to responsible access to cultural heritage for residents and visitors.
• Contribute to cultural exploitation of cultural heritage.
• Apply for a cultural arrangement for the province of Zeeland for extra finance.
• Take care of any applications for European cultural subsidies.
