Sailing in Zeeland like before and more!

Sailing ship the Tough Simplicity

From Tholen town, Skipper Henk Dijkema and his wife Cora van de Koppel are happy to take you on a journey through their passion: sailing under the brown sails of historic sailing heritage. They welcome you aboard the Tough Simplicity!

De Stoere Eenvoud is a South Holland pavilion tjalk from 1905. After her career as a freighter, she was one of the first historic freighters to be completely restored to its original condition in the mid-70s.

Tough Simplicity stands for an experience that can best be described as: Back to basics. Everyone can sit comfortably at the large wooden table below decks and listen to each other's stories, read or play games.

On the ship it is sometimes hard work to hoist the sails, tighten the sheets and backstays or operate the swords when tacking. At other times there is plenty of time to enjoy the silence, nature, the water and each other.

The meals on board are Tough and Simple, but above all tasty and healthy. Stamppots, pasta dishes, hearty soups, all prepared in our own kitchen.

Ideal for exclusive groups (family, friends, colleagues) as well as for individual travelers!

Welcome aboard.
