Plate painting
Get acquainted with pottery painting in a historic monumental building from 1597 in the historic center of Tholen. In half a day you can make a unique piece of art. This of course includes the Zeeland red of the madder back in the time of Rembrandt. The paint pigment of the madder root comes from Thool soil.
How does it work?
With pottery painting you use a glaze that you mix with an oil. You rub the paint pigment together with an oil with a spatula into an ink. With a dip pen or fine brush you will work on a glazed surface. Combine text and image into a unique piece of art. Working with the Madder color is a product of the past in a modern version. Come and take a look at my inspiring location full of inspiration, tiles and nice gifts. Enjoy the store and take your time to look around. When the weather is nice, the atmospheric, authentic terrace is open. It is wonderful to stay here. You may even hear the sounds of the carillon in the background… See you soon?
