A breeding ground for artists

Art Room Holland House

Kunstkamer Holland Huis is an art and culture center in Scherpenisse. The building, originally a residential care complex called Sassegrave, lost its function and was to be demolished. A group of artists and art lovers decided to save it and transform it into a breeding ground for art and culture. The Kunstkamer Holland Huis foundation was established and after some time the demolition plan was withdrawn. The building was reopened in 2016 and is now a meeting place, contributor to quality of life and a safe haven for creative expression.

Kunstkamer Holland Huis offers a wide range of activities and exhibitions. Here are some examples:

  • Regular art exhibitions from local and regional artists.
  • Workshops and courses in painting, sculpture, photography, and other artistic disciplines.
  • Lectures and discussion evenings about art, culture and creativity.
  • Performances and performances by musicians, poets and theater groups.
  • Interactive art projects where visitors can actively participate and develop their creative skills.
  • Educational programs and tours for schools and other educational institutions.
  • Thematic exhibitions that highlight specific art movements, historical periods or cultural themes.
  • Partnerships with local communities and organizations to organize cultural events and festivals.

Kunstkamer Holland Huis strives to make art and culture accessible to a wide audience and to provide an inspiring environment for both established artists and emerging talent. It is a vibrant place where creative minds come together, exchange ideas and explore new artistic horizons.
