Zeeland is so close

The municipality of Tholen is a special municipality on the border of the provinces of Zeeland and North Brabant. More than 25.000 residents know this – consciously or unconsciously – and many more visitors experience this during a visit or stay. To visualize this, a new experience site has been launched www.eilandtholen.nl and an extensive campaign is being conducted to show the particulars of this Zeeland municipality to the general public. Visitors are invited to experience it for themselves. All initiatives are initiated and coordinated from the Tholen Better Known Foundation, which is supported in this by the Tholen marketing team.

“The new site is a good basis to start with. It should grow into the Thool platform for recreation, living and entrepreneurship. Existing and new residents, visitors and employees and employers will find what they are looking for here," said responsible alderman Frank Hommel. In addition to factual information about vacancies, available building land, new construction projects and recreational hotspots, it is mainly about experience. The sections Typical Thoolse Themes show what makes the municipality of Tholen extra special, such as the cradle of the Roosevelt family, connection with the House of Orange and customer-friendliness through a single point of contact for new and existing entrepreneurs.

Simultaneously with the launch of the site, a photo competition was introduced, based on experience. “Tholen is a unique municipality in several respects. Everyone experiences this in his or her own way. There are many things to enjoy at Tholen and we would like to see that reflected in the photo images," says Hommel. The submitted images will be used to further strengthen communication about Tholen and a selection will be made for a traveling exhibition. More information about this can be found on the website. A series of new initiatives will be rolled out shortly, such as a Thool host training course, Tourist Information Points and a work conference for the members of the Tholen Better Known Foundation.
