Leonard Cohen

Poet and singer Leonard Cohen (1934 -2016) has created beautiful songs about his lifelong search for meaning, wisdom and light. Sometimes the darkness was hard for him. Many of his songs are well-known, for example: Suzanne of Hallelujah. His concerts were spiritual experiences. Cohen always remained faithful to his Jewish tradition, but also explored Christian, Buddhist and Hindu traditions. In his lyrics he connects his own experiences with religious imagery, bringing themes such as love, loneliness, longing and suffering to life again.

In this meditative meeting we listen to seven of his most beautiful songs, and in between we talk about his life. We let ourselves be touched by the poetry and the music. At the end of the meeting there will be an opportunity to ask questions and share what we have experienced.
