This cruise is sailed with the Frisia 2, and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Due to limited space, only collapsible pushchairs are allowed, which can be placed in the cloakroom. Small children can be carried more easily in a baby carrier.

Parking

It is wise to come to Haven Gorishoek (Scherpenisse) in good time, follow the Bicycle-Veerdienst signs and you will arrive at the harbor where you can park for free, but please do so in the parking spaces. The boat is open 30 minutes before departure. The harbor is behind Brasserie de Zeester. (Postal code 4695 PJ)

embark

The boat leaves on time. if you are late, 5 minutes before departure we reserve the right to offer the tickets you have reserved to waiting guests. You can pay in the boat, there is no cash register on shore. It is possible to pay with a debit card on board, but we do not have mobile reception in the port of Gorishoek. The pin equipment works via a mobile connection, which is not always good on the water. We advise you to bring cash when boarding at the Gorishoek location.

Disabled persons

If you are wheelchair dependent, please choose a tour from Zierikzee. This cruise is sailed with the Frisia 2, wheelchairs cannot be accommodated on board. Guests with a walker are no problem, but on a boat trip from Zierikzee it is easier to get on board.

The Cruise:

We leave from Gorishoek and sail it national park the Oosterschelde on. This cruise will be guided by the captain. The captain has followed an Oosterschelde Hospitality course. It is low tide, the mud flats and salt marshes are above water, so many water birds can be seen. The spoonbill is also regularly spotted here. During the outward or return voyage, the captain will sail via the Dortsman, a small channel between the sandbanks. You can enjoy nature here in peace and quiet.

Porpoises (Dutch Dolphin)

The current of the Oosterschelde has created deep wells under the water surface, in these deep wells we regularly see the fins of Porpoises emerging (Dutch Dolphin). Here in front of Gorishoek is one of the deep wells. When the weather is nice and calm, we regularly see porpoises.

The Zeeland Bridge

We don't pass under the Zeeland Bridge, but we see it very nicely. The Zeeland Bridge was once the longest bridge in Europe, it is over 5 km long. A copy of this bridge is 7 km long and is located in Denmark.

The Seals

At the  sandbar where we can see the seals, we ask for appropriate silence so that we can approach them at about 50 meters. Too much noise causes unrest among the group of seals.

On-board

The bar and kitchen are open during the cruise. Snacks, drinks and sandwiches are available on board.

Due to the enormous interest in the seal safari tours, it is necessary to book your tickets in advance.

Stroller

Strollers can be taken on board, preferably a collapsible stroller. The crew may ask you to fold the stroller and place it in the cloakroom. The use of a baby carrier is recommended for small children
