Your privacy is important to us. In this privacy statement we inform you about how we process personal data, for what purpose we process personal data, how you can exercise privacy rights and other information about how we handle personal data.

What personal data do we collect?
We process the personal data that you provide to us via the website, for example when you fill in the contact form or subscribe to our newsletter. This includes:
• Personal data such as name, telephone number, email address, company name, position;
• Interaction data such as IP address, surfing behavior on the websites, click behavior, location data and cookie ID

For what purpose does Eiland Tholen process personal data?
We process personal data for:
• Service purpose, to respond to messages that you have addressed (to us), for example after filling in the contact form;
• Marketing purpose, such as promotional purpose. This includes, for example, sending newsletters or electronic messages on advertising networks and social media channels such as Facebook and LinkedIn;
• Development & analysis purpose to further develop and improve our website and to tailor our range of products and services to your preferences.

Retention period of your data
We do not store personal data longer than necessary for the above purpose. The retention period depends on the purpose for which the personal data is used. After your personal data is no longer necessary, it will be anonymized or deleted.

Disclosure of data to third parties
Eiland Tholen does not sell your data to third parties and will only provide it if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation.

We conclude a processing agreement with companies that process your data on our behalf to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. Eiland Tholen remains responsible for these processing operations.

View, correct or delete data
You have, among other things, the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. You can send us a request for access, correction or deletion.

Your rights:

  1. Right of access: Data subjects have the option to check whether, and in what way, his/her data is processed.
  2. Right of correction: If it becomes clear that the data is incorrect, the data subject can submit a request to the municipality to correct this.
  3. Right to object: Data subjects have the right to ask the municipality to stop using their personal data.
  4. Right to be forgotten: In cases where the data subject has given permission to process data, the data subject has the right to have the personal data deleted.
  5. Right to object: Data subjects have the right to object to the processing of his/her personal data. The municipality will comply with this, unless there are legitimate grounds for the processing.
  6. Right to portability: This means that you can ask the municipality to provide data in such a way that another third party can also use it.

Process
To ensure that the request for access has been made by you, we ask you to enclose a copy of your proof of identity with the request. We hereby ask you to black out your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and citizen service number (BSN) in this copy. This is to protect your privacy. Island Tholen will respond to your request as soon as possible, but within four weeks.

Deny request
In exceptional cases we may refuse your application. This is only possible if there is a good reason in connection with:

  • the security of the state;
  • the prevention, detection and/or prosecution of criminal offences;
  • important economic and financial interests of the state and other public entities;
  • supervising compliance with statutory regulations that have been laid down for the benefit of the interests referred to under b and c, or;
  • the protection of the data subject or the rights and freedoms of others;

The municipality can partially refuse an application if this is necessary, for example, to protect someone else's data. If you want to view this data, the other person will first be given the opportunity to give his opinion about your request. If the municipality of Tholen (partially) refuses your application, you will be notified in writing within four weeks.

 

Cookies
Cookies are small (text) files that are sent along with pages of websites and are stored on your computer or smartphone and that simplify, complete or personalize the use of the website. The information stored in the cookies can be sent back to our servers on a subsequent visit.

Eiland Tholen uses the following types of cookies:
