In Sint-Annaland you will find the very last potato auction in the Netherlands. It is very busy there at certain times of the year. Certainly at the beginning of June when the early potatoes are traded via the auction clock via traders from home and abroad.

Because the island of Tholen has relatively many hours of sunshine and also has very fertile clay soil, it is an extremely good basis for the most delicious clay potatoes in the Netherlands. About 25 Thool farmers make it a sport to be able to deliver the first potatoes as early as possible. In addition to their knowledge and skills, innovative techniques are applied to the growth process of the various potato varieties.

These potatoes also carry the 'Zeker Zeeuws® Regional Product' quality mark, which stands for a fair Zeeland product. The potatoes are for sale to consumers in a handy 3 kilo cardboard packaging. Various points of sale offer these potatoes, including the Jumbo Supermarket in Sint-Annaland.
