Cycling fun on the border of two provinces

As the name implies, this ZeBra route takes you through both Zeeland and Brabant. Cycling fun on the border of two provinces.

The Brabant Wall… where Brabant coasts Zeeland. An area where natural beauty, monuments and cultural events are intertwined. It is a beautiful area, rich in contrasts. Forests, rolling meadows, flat polders and water features alternate. The steep ridge, a monument of geological value, is a challenge for cyclists due to the difference in height.

Tholen is an undiscovered part of Zeeland. The wind through your hair. The salty sea in the sky. The green landscape glides past your eyes. Old dikes, mills, farmsteads and authentic centers pop up in it. With Tholen-stad as a hospitable fortress on the water. Peace and space omk

ZeBraRoute – Zeeland and Brabant Route

The area where Zeeland and Brabant border each other is beautiful and unique. The rugged coast with dikes and bridges and the beautiful forests. Reason enough to connect the bicycle networks between Reimerswaal, Tholen and the Brabantse Wal. This so-called ZeBra route leads cycling enthusiasts through both Zeeland and Brabant. On Thursday 4 August, the aldermen of the municipalities of Reimerswaal, Tholen and the Brabantse Wal (Bergen op Zoom, Steenbergen and Woensdrecht) literally kicked off the cycling route and symbolically handed over the routes to each other. Route North runs through the municipality of Tholen and the Brabantse Wal and route South runs through the municipality of Reimerswaal and the Brabantse Wal.

Tholen
The municipality of Tholen, which consists of the islands of Tholen and Sint Philipsland, is surrounded by the Oosterschelde National Park and the Scheldt-Rhine Canal. Alderman Frank Hommel of the municipality of Tholen: “Cycling is a good place to be in our municipality. Enjoy the picturesque landscape and cycle over the dikes and along the water and fields. Be surprised by our authentic cores. Via this ZeBra route we offer cyclists a beautiful, varied route through the Brabantse Wal and the municipalities of Tholen and Reimerswaal.”

The Brabant Wal
The Brabantse Wal is the area where Brabant coasts Zeeland. Where natural beauty, monuments and cultural events are intertwined. It is a beautiful area, rich in contrasts. Forests, rolling meadows, flat polders and water features alternate. The steep ridge, a monument of geological value, is a challenge for cyclists due to the difference in height.

Reimerswaal
Reimerswaal is the land between the two Scheldts. Literally Zeeland at its narrowest, a strip of land between the Eastern and Western Scheldt. The city perished and became sea. The sea was wrested out and became land. A special piece of South Beveland was extracted from the salt water. Villages arose and grew; connected by dikes, fields, meadows and orchards. Alderman Martien van Overloop: ''In the municipality of Reimerswaal there are many opportunities for health tourism because of the peace, space, fresh sea air and healthy food. There are many options for exercise, such as cycling (outside the dikes), walking, sporting events and a round of the ferry. Zeeland is also a 5* cycling province. All of these are elements that make our municipality unique to cycle through.”
